That’s not my Neighbor Campaign Mode

Campaign Mode in That’s Not My Neighbor represents a substantial expansion to the game’s core mechanics, introduced in Update 1.2.0.0 as a part of the paid version of the game. This mode transforms the job of a doorman into a week-long narrative arc, where players are thrust into a complex web of security and detection against a backdrop of rising tension. At the outset, players are greeted with a scene-setting newspaper headline about the D.D.D.’s recruitment drive, setting the stage for the upcoming challenges. Each game day starts with a handover of a critical list by a fellow D.D.D agent, which serves as the basis for the day’s tasks. Players must navigate through each day, ensuring the safety of the apartment’s residents by meticulously identifying and denying entry to doppelgangers. The game autosaves nightly, preserving the consequences of each day’s actions and adding a persistent element to gameplay decisions.

Strategic Challenges and Narrative Depth

Campaign Mode introduces a heightened level of strategic gameplay, with doppelgangers designed to mimic their human templates more closely than in previous modes. This subtlety in differences requires players to pay extreme attention to detail and to make use of enhanced interrogation tactics to prevent catastrophic errors. If a resident is erroneously killed due to a doppelgänger’s successful entry, the repercussions extend beyond the individual—roommates and possibly entire sections of the apartment block suffer, creating a ripple effect that impacts the narrative’s progression and the player’s strategy in subsequent days. The mode spans up to seven days, each adding layers to the storyline and leading to one of five possible endings. These endings vary based on the decisions players make throughout the week, with each outcome offering a unique achievement that reflects the path taken.
