A famous actor is found dead at a roadside attraction in Cypress Knee, a small Florida town surrounded by swamps. The authorities consider it a suicide, but several people begin questioning the circumstances. Knee Deep is a narrative detective adventure where you investigate the incident through three different characters. The story involves local politics, religious organizations, business interests, and secrets hidden within the community. Your decisions influence conversations and determine how the investigation develops.
You experience the story through Romana Teague, an outspoken blogger; Jack Bellet, a struggling newspaper reporter; and K.C. Gaddis, a private investigator. Each character approaches the case differently and has personal reasons for investigating. Their conversations reveal information about the deceased actor and the people connected to him. You influence their personalities by choosing how they respond to questions, whether they remain diplomatic, and how aggressively they pursue information.

You select dialogue responses, investigate suspicious circumstances, and decide how information should be presented to others. Some decisions affect relationships, while others change how characters react to your investigation.
