Dead as Disco Demo combines martial arts combat with music, turning every fight into a sequence of synchronized attacks and movements. You play as Charlie Disco, a former music icon whose career ended after a conflict involving his bandmates. Those musicians have become powerful performers known as the Idols. Charlie’s journey involves confronting them and uncovering the truth behind the band’s past. The game uses third-person action, rhythmic combat, and music-driven environments instead of traditional turn-based battles.
The combat system is called Beat Kune Do, a fighting style that connects punches, kicks, dodges, and finishing moves with the soundtrack. You control Charlie’s movement and select attacks while the game synchronizes combat animations with the music. Enemies also attack in patterns that follow the rhythm. The tutorial explains how to combine offensive and defensive actions, allowing you to practice fighting several opponents without losing control of the situation.
The main story mission takes place beneath the city, where an Idol named Hemlock is performing at an underground concert. Charlie must fight through enemies before reaching the musician. Encounters involve groups of opponents, requiring you to change targets, avoid incoming attacks, and maintain combinations.
The demo includes:
Infinite Disco removes the fixed story objective and concentrates on continuous fighting. Enemies arrive in waves, and your task is to survive while defeating as many opponents as possible. You can select from the included soundtrack or import your own MP3 files to change the music accompanying combat.
Dead as Disco Demo does not use conventional character levels or experience-based progression. Its content is divided between a combat tutorial, a story mission, and an endless arena mode. The story section provides a confrontation with Hemlock, while Infinite Disco emphasizes survival and scoring. Replaying encounters allows you to practice movement, improve attack combinations, and experiment with different music. The leaderboards provide an additional objective for players interested in comparing their combat performance.
