Open: Labubu is a digital collection game in which players open randomized blind boxes to obtain different versions of the character Labubu. The main activity is centered around revealing and cataloging virtual figures. Each box contains one item selected at random, and once opened, it is added to the user’s permanent collection. The game does not include story-based content or progression mechanics. Its structure is based entirely on repetition and chance. Players are encouraged to continue opening boxes to complete their collection of available Labubu figures.
The interface is designed for single-action input. Players click or tap on a blind box to reveal its contents. The outcome is determined instantly, and each figure appears with a short animation. Revealed items are shown in a gallery, while unrevealed ones remain hidden as outlines. There is no in-game shop or upgrade system; all focus remains on discovery through blind box opening. A counter tracks how many boxes have been opened, and another shows how many unique figures have been found so far.
The following mechanics form the basis of gameplay in Open: Labubu:
There are no choices affecting the result, and players cannot influence what is inside a box. The randomness remains constant across all sessions. The gallery serves as the main objective, with players aiming to complete it by unlocking every possible variant of Labubu.
All collected items are stored in a grid-based view. This allows users to see at a glance which figures have been obtained and which remain. When a duplicate figure is received, the system still records the action, but it does not change the gallery status. Because the structure is simple and does not depend on user skill, the experience remains the same across different devices and platforms. The game does not contain in-game currency or exchange options. It relies purely on repetition and outcome tracking to maintain engagement.
