Only Way is Down

Only Way is Down puts players in control of a small cat trapped at the top of an unfinished skyscraper. After a sudden fall, the cat finds itself surrounded by construction debris, towering steel beams, and unsteady platforms. The objective is simple: go down. But the path is complex, filled with narrow ledges, moving cranes, and unpredictable gaps. With every step, the player must maintain balance and precision, as even a slight misstep can send the character plummeting to lower levels—or back to the very start.

Clothing Options and Playable Mechanics

As players make progress, they can unlock clothing items to personalize their cat, including various hats, glasses, and masks. Eye color and fur type can also be changed, letting players create a look that fits their style. The environment plays a big role in gameplay, as players are challenged to use the layout of the building to their advantage. From hanging beams to broken floors, every object can become either a hazard or a helpful path, depending on how it’s approached.

Risk, Timing, and Movement

Only Way is Down rewards careful movement and fast thinking. The cat can leap between platforms, walk across narrow surfaces, and slide down certain areas—but each action carries risk. Players must adapt to a vertical world where gravity is a constant threat and progress is never guaranteed. The game focuses on mastering movement and reacting to each section of the descent with accuracy. Every successful landing brings players one step closer to the ground and a sense of earned progress.
