Militsioner is a first-person adventure where the player is placed under arrest without clear explanation. The main goal is to escape from a provincial town, but the path is complicated by the presence of a massive policeman who monitors every action. The character is under constant observation and surrounded by townspeople who follow their own schedules and routines. This structure creates a living environment where strategy and timing become essential.
Progress depends on how the player chooses to communicate and act. Dialogue, persuasion, theft, and stealth are all available as options. The policeman reacts differently depending on the situation, showing suspicion, calm, or aggression. Townspeople also respond to behavior and can either help or hinder. Because of these dynamics, no two playthroughs look the same, and the player is pushed to adapt.
The project is created by TallBoys, an independent Russian studio, and is planned for PC. While the final version is not released yet, testing phases have given access to a limited town area and basic mechanics. Feedback from players highlighted the unpredictability of interactions and the variety of escape methods. The ongoing development aims to refine artificial intelligence systems and expand the open structure of the town.
Beyond mechanics, Militsioner uses its giant figure to explore themes of power and restriction. The towering policeman is a guard and a character with emotions, principles, and contradictions. This duality emphasizes the tension between authority and individual freedom. By combining a social simulation with a surreal visual metaphor, the game encourages players to reflect on control, resistance, and the human response to surveillance.
