Version 60, also known as The Stuffy Update, has arrived for Lethal Company, introducing an array of enhancements and new features that significantly alter the game’s dynamics. This update breathes new life into the gameplay with a fresh interior design now commonly found in the environments of Offense, Vow, Dine, and Artifice moons, although it’s capable of appearing on any moon. This change introduces new strategic considerations for players as they navigate these updated spaces. The update has also streamlined the game’s challenges by removing several creatures like the Kidnapper Fox, Bog Crawler, and Goopy Goblin, focusing players more on environmental interaction and less on creature conflicts.
The modifications to the Coilheads’ AI are among the most strategic updates in this release. These creatures now feature a recharge phase after chasing players for a certain distance, introducing a new escape dynamic that players can exploit. Coilheads also now lose track of players after losing sight for an extended period and face new limitations in their ability to complete jumps if they are spotted in the act. These changes demand more tactical awareness and quick thinking from players. Additionally, AI improvements for characters like Flowerman and Spore lizard are designed to enhance game performance, particularly in reducing lag on larger maps, which enhances the overall fluidity of gameplay.
Further enriching the game’s depth, the update has added several new pieces of scrap, providing players with more resources to collect and utilize. A new rarity element where every piece of scrap spawned on a moon could be of the same type adds an intriguing layer of luck and strategy to resource gathering. Environmental interactions have been deepened with the introduction of unique sound effects for the wooden doors of the mansion and the addition of a mineshaft interior, which offers new exploratory possibilities and challenges.
